Obituary for Beverly Green
Beverly Green of Scranton died Saturday November 25, 2017 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit following a brief illness.
Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late Wendell C. And Dorothy Langham Weber. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, prior to her retirement she was employed with the Lackawanna County Domestic Relations Office.
Beverly’s family would like to thank the nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit for their outstanding care and compassion.
A women of strong faith Beverly was an active member of Elm Park United Methodist Church where she would serve as an usher, on their Lady’s Guild, and help with their food pantry.
Surviving are daughter Wendy Mercer and fiancé Louis DeMarco, Scranton; grandchildren Brooke Williams, Scranton, and Jared Mercer and girlfriend Jennelle Hopkins, Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her longtime companion Al Poveromo; brother Donald Weber.
Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday from 4-7 pm in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton. Interment in Abington Hills Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
