Obituary for Charles T. Krayer Sr.

Charles T. Krayer Sr. of the East Mountain section of Scranton died Monday May 7, 2018 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Frances Unsworth.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and Winifred Taylor Krayer. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, he proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp. He went on to attend the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to retirement he was employed by Capital Records and Beloitte-Manhattan.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed bow hunting and shooting his firearms. He liked to work in his yard and tend to the garden. He was an animal lover that had many pets and liked to sit on the porch and watch the animals. He was one of the few remaining original founding mountaineers left on East Mountain and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Charlie’s family would like to thank all the caregivers over the years that have been with him.
Also surviving are three sons, Charles Krayer Jr. and significant other Colleen Rogers, Scranton; David Krayer, Springbrook and Richard Krayer, with whom Charles resided with, and companion, Kathryn Stanavitch, Scranton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Anne Walsh; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Dolly Hosko and Mary Powell; infant brother William.
The funeral will be conducted Friday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Holy Name of Jesus Church, East Elm Street and Froude Avenue, East Mountain. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
