Obituary for Leslie W. Potter

Leslie W.  Potter
Leslie W. Potter of Gouldsboro died Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital of Scranton following a brief illness. His wife of 59 years is the former Dolores Simonson.
Born in Wilmerding, he was the son of the late Herbert and Isabella Smith Potter. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1954, he proudly served in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot as a Systems Analyst and Chief Information Officer of the Directorate of Information Management.
He was a member of the Free Masons, as well as the Moscow Sportsman Club Association. He coached and helped to establish the North Pocono Warriors Football Program and also coached Little League in Gouldsboro.
Leslie was a loving father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Primary Care Unit at Geisinger CMC, as well as the nurses at PAM Specialty Hospital of Scranton for their compassionate care of Les.
Also surviving are sons Mark Potter and wife Lucy, Maryland, Kevin Potter and wife Jayne, Pittston Twp.; daughters Kimberly Rainey and husband William, Dunmore, Roni Jean Rega and husband Francis, Gouldsboro; grandchildren Mark Jr., Christine, and Aaron Potter, Alicia Polak, Chris Preznuk, Jessica Smith, twins Katlyn and Laurel Rega; great-grandchildren Addison and Victoria Polak; brother Herbert Potter and wife Charlotte, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
A brother Fred Potter and wife Carol preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc. 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton, with Rev. Errol Morgan, Pastor of the Parker Hill Community Church officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NEPA Youth For Christ, 1613 Jackson St. Scranton, PA 18604.
