Obituary for Robert J. Ross Sr.

Robert J. Ross Sr. of Scranton died Friday August 19, 2016 following a brief illness. His wife of 53 years is the former Bernadine Snopkowski of Avoca.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Edward and Lillian Kellett Ross. Educated in Scranton schools prior to his retirement he was employed by Giant Supermarkets.
Robert lived a very full and happy life. He was a very devoted family man, spending as much time as possible doing his two favorite things; time with his wife, children and grandchildren and following Yankees baseball.
Also surviving are daughters Cynthia Sprowls and husband Steve, Nicholson, Crystal Ondrick and husband Bradley, Clarks Summit, and Kimberly Crafts and husband Sean, Scott Twp.; sons Robert J. Ross Jr. and wife Susan, Jim Thorpe, and Michael Ross Sr., Scranton; grandchildren Melissa Payne, Brandon Ross, Christopher Ross, Sierra Sprowls, Landon Sprowls, Austin Ross, Michael Ross Jr., and Robert Ross III; great-grandchildren Mason Ross an Hunter Fornicola; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Lorraine Wassner, Vera Novak, and Betty Kincel, and brother Edward Ross.
The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Neumann Parish at Nativity Church, 633 Orchard St. Scranton. Interment Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312
