Gloria “Tootsie” Pitts of Scranton died Friday October 7, 2016 at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Pivornick Pitts.
Educated in Scranton schools, she was employed in the housekeeping department of Mercy Hospital prior to her retirement.
Gloria recently moved to the apartments at Goodwill at North, Gerald T. Langan Apts. to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending time at the Downtown Senior Center playing bingo and volunteering there. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, helping prepare dinner, helping with household chores, or simply enjoying a glass of wine.
Surviving is a brother James Pitts, Simpson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Joseph and Ronald Pitts.
The funeral will be conducted Monday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Cyril Edwards at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery will be private. Friends may call Sunday from, 2 to 4 p.m.
