Obituary for Peter F. Chiappini

Peter F. Chiappini, 56-years-old of Dunmore died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit due to complications of liver cancer. His long time companion is Barb Chandrios. Born in Scranton, he was son of the late Peter and Gerry Costa Chiappini. He was educated in Scranton schools and attended Johnson Technical Institute. Peter was a hardworking, self-employed contractor. A friend to all, Peter was willing to help anyone in need and was very generous donating to numerous causes. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and the beach. Also surviving are daughter Paloma Chiappini of Bear Creek; sons Peter William Chiappini of New York, Jeffery Chiappini of Scranton, Peter Alexander Chiappini of Bear Creek, Alexander Chiappini of Dunmore; grandchildren Blake and Brian Chiappini; sisters Shawna Ogonowski and husband Paul of Scranton, Lynn Sandy of Scranton and brother Kip Chiappini and wife Laura of Eynon; and nieces and nephews. Peter's life will be celebrated Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Scranton. Interment in Italian-American Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore PA, 18510 and the American Liver Foundation. The family would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. Kurt Moran and staff, Moses Taylor Hospital staff and Hospice of the Sacred Heart staff.
